Nowadays education is very important and popular among the people and the schools have many requirements to suit national educational standards. Good college or university will give the students good education, skills and knowledge which are essential for success and achievements.

The education must reflect the demand of nowadays. There are many studies concerning the quality of education and many students affirm that they are not satisfied with the quality of education and they need many other skills and majors to be ready for contemporary life and to be competitive on the labor market. According to studies, such subjects as science, math and reading must be improved and the teachers must be more experienced.

The employers also affirm that they need better prepared and experienced employees. Workforce must be more educated and must have more professional knowledge and practical skills.

To achieve such goal the governments gives much money for national educational programs and for reformation of educational system and methods.

For example, the coursework of Michigan Merit Core consists nowadays of:
1. English language – 4 credits.
2. Math – also 4 credits (one credit in AND, Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and math related subjects.
3. 3 credits in science (Chemistry, Physics and Biology).
4. 3 credits in social science
5. 5 credits in economics and civics
6. 1 credit in World history and US history, integrated with other humanities and geographic
7. 2 credits in world languages
8. 2 credits in physical education and health
9. 1 credit in performing and visual art

Besides, the students after the year of education have to pass special exam. If the students did not pass such exam, they will have one more additional chance to pass it in the spring of the next studying year.
Additionally to all these changes the schools are changing their curriculums to make them more contemporary and interesting for students.
